Canola

Opportunities to grow canola have improved significantly in recent years due to a focus on blackleg resistance and the introduction of herbicide tolerant varieties. These varieties tend to have lower yield but allow improved weed control. Triazine Tolerant varieties allow use of atrazine and/or simazine. Clearfield® varieties are tolerant to OnDuty® and Intervix® imidazolinone herbicides. Roundup Ready® canola has been modified using gene technology to tolerate glyphosate.
